Walter Bosse "Golf Club" Tray
A brass tray designed by Walter Bosse and produced by Herta Baller, Vienna, Austria c.1950.
Abstract in its design, this piece perfectly represents Mid-20th Century Modernist ideals with its elegant simplicity and functionality. The piece is reminiscent of a golf club, or the bowl of a tobacco pipe, and consists of a shallow dish with a soft triangular shape. Originally designed as an ashtray - albeit a very elegant one - the piece features a groove on which to place a cigarette.
Handmade to the highest quality, this tray has been black-patinated in a typical Viennese fashion. The rim has been polished back to reveal golden brass & highlight the items decorative appeal.
