An antique terracotta costrel designed for Liberty, London, 1907.
Retailed as a container for lavender oil, the loops on this vessel allow the item to be hung so that the fragrance could permeate a room.
The pot was manufactured by Verwood potteries, Dorset, and retailed at Liberty, London, during the late Arts & Crafts period.
The underside of the jar is impressed with 'Liberty London' as well as a registration number which dates the design to 1907.
