Erik Höglund Rectangular Heads Vase

A substantial mould-blown rectangular vase by Erik Höglund featuring two characterful faces at each end, both with stylised ears and jawlines that decorate the front and back of the piece. The vase, handmade at Boda glassworks, is thick-walled and heavy.

Höglund became a key figure in the success of Swedish glass during the mid-20th Century. He developed his distinct style during the 1950's, taking inspiration from simple shapes & primordial forms. His work was often figural, and can be described as abstract, rustic and honest.
