Jens Quistgaard Acorn Box
A solid teak storage box carved into the form of an acorn, designed by Jens Quistgaard in 1960. Today, this collectable container is an ideal way to store precious trinkets. However, it was described in the original Dansk catalogue as a 'Condiment Box'. Presumably, the lidded vessel was initially intended to help beautify your table setting by hiding generic store bought jars of mustard, jam, etc...
Jens Quistgaard was a seminal designer who greatly helped to popularise the 'Danish Modern' aesthetic during the 1950's and 60's. The box features the early 'Four Ducks' mark and was only in production for a few years.
