Nanny Still 'Harlekiini' Candlestick

A glass candle holder from the 'Harlekiini' (Harlequin) series designed by Nanny Still in 1958 for Riihimäen Lasi Oy, Finland.

'Harlekiini' is arguably Still's most renowned work. The boldness of the series' geometric forms & the bright turquoise glass most certainly leave a lasting impression. The stunning series includes 24 elements such as decanters, jugs, glasses & bowls - with each becoming somewhat a design classic.

The flared cylindrical holder features a short clear glass stem and rimmed foot. The object is perfectly proportioned, and was designed to take a small taper candle.
