Nanny Still 'Harlekiini' Large Bowl

A large serving bowl from the 'Harlekiini' (Harlequin) series designed by Nanny Still in 1958 for Riihimäen Lasi Oy, Finland.

Demonstrating Still's confident sense of form & masterful application of colour, the 'Harlekiini' series elevated her career to new heights in the late 1950's and has become an enduring symbol of Finnish Modernism.

This impressive glass bowl was handmade during the 1960's at Riihimäki's famous glassworks. The refined beauty of this object is not only in Still's design; the subtly curved & tapered form in vibrant turquoise-blue glass, but also in the delicate finesse of the objects manufacture.
