A hand painted Art Deco wooden canister which dates from around 1930, probably made in Britain.
The ribbed, lathed form of this wooden container strongly conveys the Art Deco look. The boldness and vibrancy of the era however has been gently mellowed by the passage of time.
This attractive object has been hand-painted in black, mustard and red stripes. Originally intended for tea or tobacco, this is now a useful & versatile storage jar for the home.
