A superbly sculptural and idiosyncratic Mouse by Susan Parkinson, 1956.
By the late 1950's, Britain's economy was finally picking up following WWII, and the Parkinson's began to supply 'fancy goods' shops, which were largely catering for the holiday souvenir trade. The model which lead them in this direction was the mouse. The mouse has the model Number 71, and was designed in 1956 for a store in the Cornish fishing village of Mousehole.
