Tamara Aladin 1492 Textured Vase
Tamara Aladin is best known for her vast array of vibrant 'hooped' vases, produced at Riihimäki glassworks, Finland, throughout the 1960's. The colourful, undulating 'pop' forms embody the essence of the era and have a lasting appeal.
This cased glass vase is an unconventional example of Aladin's work where instead of the boldness of undulating shapes, she plays with the subtlety of texture. The cylindrical vase, handmade from an attractive olive-green glass, features a modernist diamond pattern which creates a play of light. The texture is then contrasted by a smooth band of glass around the vases middle.
