Walter Bosse Cat Pretzel Holder
This brass cat was designed by Walter Bosse in the 1950's and produced by Herta Baller, Austria. Originally designed to serve pretzels, this elegant object can be used as a ring holder.
Walter Bosse's cat designs are unsurprisingly some of his most loved works; not only are cats wonderfully popular pets, but the sleek elegance and sophistication of the domestic cat lends itself so well to Bosse's Modernist style.
This patinated brass cat features an arched back and somewhat surprised expression. The head and pointed ears are wonderfully modelled, whilst the graceful & extremely long tail extends upwards to hold pretzels or rings. The cat has been patinated black, with areas such as the face, ears, and the tip of its tail hand-polished back, by hand, to reveal the golden brass underneath.
