Walter Bosse Elephant Hook

A black and gold coloured hook in the form of an elephant, designed by Walter Bosse. This whimsical hook, and all of Bosse's other animal hooks, were designed and produced in Germany circa 1960. 

Walter Bosse began his career in Vienna, but he left Austria for Germany in 1953, leaving his original Austrian company to Herta Baller and started afresh in Germany with a whole new portfolio of designs. It was in this period that some of his best remembered work was produced, such as the animal hooks and his stacking hedgehog ashtrays.

This solid cast brass elephant hook is patinated black, and then polished back on the tips of the prongs and the elephant's trunk & ears.
