Walter Bosse Fish Candle Holder
A sleek brass fish designed by Walter Bosse in the early 1950's and beautifully handmade in Vienna, Austria, by the Herta Baller workshop.
This unusual Walter Bosse design is one of the most abstract renditions in his entire portfolio; the minimalist fish takes the form of only a silhouette. The incredibly stylish object is comparable to Bosse's designs for trays and pin dishes, however this piece has been pierced with a candle spike - resulting in an unexpected holder. The fish features a hammered surface and polished golden rim, showcasing the handmade nature of the object.
The fish candle holder belongs to Bosse's renowned & highly collectable ‘black-golden’ line of cast brass sculptures and home accessories in the form of animals. This piece is a particularly rare model, and would make an exceptional & useful addition to the home.
