Walter Bosse Monkey Hook
A black and gold coloured hook in the form of a monkey, designed by Walter Bosse. This whimsical hook, and all of Bosse's other animal hooks, were designed and produced in Germany during the 1960's.
Bosse left Austria for Germany in 1953, starting afresh with a whole new portfolio of designs, leaving his original Austrian company to Herta Baller. It was in this later period that some of his best remembered work was produced, such as the popular animal hooks and his stacking hedgehog ashtrays.
This attractive solid brass monkey contains heaps of friendly character. His face is smiling, and stylised in a fantastic mid-20th Century fashion. The monkey has been painted black and polished on the tips and facial features, whilst the arms and legs have been sculpted into four practical hooks.
