An extremely sculptural brass ring or pen holder in the form of a monkey, designed by Walter Bosse for Herta Baller, Austria, in the 1950s.

This exceptionally well modelled and executed object is stunning from every angle -truly a miniature Modernist sculpture. 

Although his career began in ceramics, Walter Bosse is best known for his whimsical 'black-golden' line of patinated brass animals, such as this monkey. Early examples, like this, are revered for their quality of design and manufacture.
